The automated station constantly updates data on wind speeds and directions, rainfall, dust, ozone and air quality. Its equipment is connected to the city’s monitoring system, and all indices are publicised on the municipal People’s Committee’s portal.
At the same time, the station allows detailed study on pollution and sources of pollution.
Earlier, the French-based ENVEA, a renowned manufacturer in the field of environmental instrumentation, installed ten air quality monitoring stations in the city under the AFD/Airparif technical support project.
The air quality monitoring solution installed in Hanoi has been completely provided by ENVEA and includes 2 reference pollution monitoring stations measuring gases Ozone (O3), Carbon Monoxide (CO), Sulfur Dioxide (SO2), Nitrogen Oxides (NO, NO2, NOx), Particulate Matter (PM 2.5 and PM 10), as well as 8 Cairpol sensor-based microstations to measure NO2, CO and particulates. All 10 stations being equipped with data acquisition & handling systems, the measured parameters are automatically transmitted to the central server, where the XR® software ensures the supervision and data management. The XR calculates (data scaling, correction, linearization, normalization) and aggregates the resulting data over different time periods. It also follows-up and controls all measuring devices (analyzers, data acquisition systems, meteorological sensors, calibrators, communication systems…) with multi-window representation for data display (raw, means, trends, graphs…), real-time graphic followups, interactive set-up, calibration & automatic results monitoring, remote testing of interfaces, etc…
