Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented FTIR (Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy) Gas Analyzer Operations Manager to oversee the daily operations, maintenance, optimization, and support of our FTIR gas analysis systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in analytical chemistry, experience with FTIR technology, customer support and proven leadership skills.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Operations Management:
o Oversee the daily operations of FTIR gas analyzers, ensuring accurate and efficient analysis of gas samples.
o Maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the use and maintenance of FTIR equipment.
o Monitor and optimize the performance of FTIR systems to maintain high-quality data output. - Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
o Perform routine maintenance and calibration of FTIR gas analyzers onsite and at customer locations.
o Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues with FTIR equipment, coordinating repairs as needed.
o Ensure all equipment is in compliance with safety and operational standards.
o Provide training and guidance on the operation and maintenance of FTIR equipment remotely and onsite with customers. - Data Management and Analysis:
o Manage and interpret data generated by FTIR gas analyzers for product development and customer support.
o Ensure accurate documentation and reporting of analytical results.
o Collaborate with other departments to provide analytical support and insights. - Quality Assurance:
o Develop a development plan (define objectives and timelines for the completion of various tasks) and Quality Management processes (Non-conformities, Customer Complaints and Design change).
o Implement and monitor quality control measures to ensure the reliability of analytical results.
o Conduct regular audits and reviews of operational processes to identify areas for improvement.
o Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards and advancements in FTIR technology. - Project Management:
o Plan and execute projects related to the implementation and enhancement of FTIR analysis capabilities.
o Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for the procurement of FTIR equipment and supplies.
o Manage budgets and resources effectively to meet project deadlines and objectives. - Customer Interactions
o Provide advice to customers to help them configure systems for their applications and diagnose on site problems
o Provide customers with up to date and accurate information on products and services available
o Carry out any functionality and system training for customers
o Provide feedback to the sales team to promote future business opportunities.
Knowledge and Skills
- Extensive experience with FTIR spectroscopy, gas analysis, and sampling systems.
- Proven track record in managing laboratory operations and technical teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational and project management abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong Computer Skills (Hardware, Software, Simple Programming)

Travel
Travel will be required for customer training and support and to attend conferences.
