We are extremely proud of this achievement and the breadth of MIR 9000 Series of process and emission monitors deployments worldwide. These systems are field-proven, state-of-the-art technologies, internationally certified and approved, that support industries in their environmental compliance and process optimization.
The analyzer will be installed in Spain, as part of the global emission monitoring solution provided by ENVEA to ENDESA, for its diesel power generation plant of Ceuta required to fulfil the IED Directive 2010/75/EU on Industrial Emissions and the implementation of BREF (best available techniques).
ENDESA carries out its activities in the electricity and gas business, and is a market leader in Spain and the second operator in Portugal. To a lesser degree it markets electricity and gas in other European markets, in addition to other value-added products and services (VAPS) related with its main business. All this thanks to its almost 10,000 employees, who make it possible to provide service to almost 11 million customers.
In 2018, the total energy distributed by ENDESA’s network, measured in power plant busbars, was 117,519 GWh. On 31 December 2018, ENDESA’s total net installed capacity in Spain was 20,904 MW in ordinary regime, of which 16,370 MW corresponded to the mainland electricity system and the remaining 4,534 MW to the electricity systems of non-mainland territories (TNP) (Balearic and Canary Islands, and the cities of Ceuta and Melilla). ENDESA’s generation plants in Spain had a total net output of 74,193 GWh in 2018.
Protecting the environment and minimising environmental impact have become one of the primary factors that shape the status of opinion involving companies in the industry. Moreover, regulations have become notably stricter, which has increased the level of requirements for companies to minimise their environmental footprint. Thus, always committed to environmental management excellence, ENDESA continues to assume among its environmental priorities aspects such as the improvement of air quality, the efficient use of energy and the promotion of a responsible consumption of water resources. Therefore, among its priorities is the gradual reduction of greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) associated with the generation of electrical energy by increasing its presence in renewable energy and optimising the management of traditional technologies. The aim is to achieve this, notwithstanding its public commitment to decarbonise the energy mixby 2050, which will be attained by following the road map established in its Strategic Plan 2019-2021.
