The Field Service Engineer will provide product support, service, test and repair of the full range of ENVEA equipment across Customer sites in the UK and occasionally worldwide. The role may also require training customers in correct use and maintenance of ENVEA products and services and may be required to give telephone support as necessary. Other duties may include feeding back knowledge and experience to support development of best practice within the Service department.

Reports to: Service & Repairs Team Leader

Duties

  • Travel to customer sites to repair, commission, calibrate, service and fault find (to board level only) ENVEA products.
  • Provide advice to customers to help them configure systems for their applications and diagnose on site problems.
  • Provide customers with up to date and accurate information on products and services available, including service contracts, extended warranties, calibration services and training.
  • Carry out functionality and system training at both customer sites and ENVEA premises
  • Ensure full and accurate data entry into customer database and timely completion of Service Reports.
  • Offer feedback regarding equipment issues and ideas to assist future product development of features and function and feedback  to the Sales team to promote future business opportunities .
  • Communicate with the Engineering teams to ensure lessons learnt from field problems are incorporated into future product iterations.

Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications
  • An apprenticeship or qualification to OND, HND standard in an electro-mechanical subject
  • 17th Edition Wiring qualification (or willingness to take course)
 Experience
  • Experience in customer service/ support and resolving problems to customer’s satisfaction.
  • Electronics experience, ideally with an instrumentation background.
  • Field service experience would be a distinct advantage.
  • Knowledge of Particulate Emission Monitors and/ or Isokinetic Stack Sampling would be an advantage.
  • Use of IT for equipment test, and reports writing.
  • Use of standard test equipment.

  • Ability to act safely and conscientiously at all times.
  • Must be able to climb vertical ladders up to 20m long multiple times in a working day utilising rest platforms and working in line with work at height regulations
  • Must be able to “pull” loads of up to 20kg using manual strength, vertically up a stack using appropriate lifting equipment where applicable in line with health and safety guidelines.
  • Must have manual dexterity to handle small cable connectors, fixings, and tools.

Travel

Travel is a core part of the role and the candidate must be prepared and able to attend customer sites across the country. Some work may require overnight stays away from home, and on occasion this may be up to a week in duration. Very occasionally the opportunity to travel to international customers may be available.
